orchid pollination Project #1 (Den)

Making a record of progress:
This is a Noid hard cane (phal type) Den from TJ's I got this past summer.
I had pollinated all its blooms in different phases of their cycle. Originally I had four that took, but 2 pods had aborted. And 2 stuck around pics below...
(I can only post one at a time so hang tight )

I wish I had taken pic of pod progress but they are curently 3 to 4 times bigger than the 2 pics above. The other day when I was watering I noticed that the seams of the pod have defined deep lins to where the seam appears to be thinning visually so I got the coffee filters put in place in case they burst.
I cut a coffee filter in 1/2 folded the edges over where they were open. I stapled one side slipped it under the pod(s) then stapled the other side (top) closed) I stapled a twist tie to the top of the filter and wrapped it ablut a 1/4 almost a 1/2 inch back on the spike away from the pod to support it so it dowsnt weigh the pod down and bust it off the spike prematuely. I will be doing dry seed flasking not green cap/ green seed flasking with these.
Next 3 pics are each and then both pods wrapped and secured in the coffee filters

Last one for now. I will follow up when they burst and then show the set up for drying over next few days past bursting.

Emmaye, that's so interesting. You are truly becoming the queen of the seed capsules! Good growing, Tony
