Phrag. kovachii X caricinum deflasked... :S

I was at the local orchid show here this weekend and got a flask of phrag-kovachii X caricinum which had been dropped or shook and some of the plants ended up under the agar... so I got a steal of a deal for it, but had to deflask early. Those are the plants separately laid out (see pic below). I ended up planting them in different mediums in the hopes that one or two would *really* like it and survive. I have a water contraption thing that is two terracotta pots flipped and siliconed together to create a terracotta jar. I then siliconed that to a terracotta pot holder. It has been set up for a year or so and has some natural mosses and stuff growing on it. See drawing.

So I placed a couple of the phrags in the lip (which is quite wet but fully open to air and circulation), a couple in pure live sphagnum, and some in a mix similar to what i use for my venus fly traps. Lots of pumice, some peat, sand, and gravel. They're all in a little greenhouse with very high humidity and receive about 8 hours of bright morning sun, and then indirect light for the rest of the day. I didn't plant any in bark chips b/c the roots are so tiny/short that I can guarantee they'll dry out the second it gets sunny.

I'm posting to see if anyone has experience with deflasking early? are those plants way too small? Am I hooped?

I know absolutely nothing about babies and deflasking but I've found for 'chids that:

If there's a root, there's a way (or something like that)!

And, I see roots!

Might want to try one in fine grade Hydroton and s/h. Just a thought.

Cool pot.

Good growing in your future.

Hi, when I de-flask my Phrag-kovachii It was recommended to use live spag moss loosely place around them, all in a small compot.
The need to have a regular temperature of around 23 to 26Deg C. Above or below the will die. they need coolish air movement through the moss.
In they wild they have rain water seeping constantly down the sides of the steep banks/hills through their roots system.

I grew mine on for about 18 months and in the move to my present home they got too hot and I lost the lot, by then they were about 3 to 4 inches tall.
I found them too fussy about the temp range so never bothered to replace them, a pity!
