Thumbs down I think i got an fungal infection?

I recent obtained a flask of mericlones of the Den. Cosmic Gold 'Sandy'. AM/AOC from a friend. They were abit small so i let it grow under some T5 for 12hrs. So far my other flasks are doing ok, but I noticed this morning that one of the flasklings is darkened at the base. Im not sure if i got an fungal infection or not. If so, what do you recommend me on doing?

Kind regards
Stephen

If it was me I'd take them out immediately. I've deflasked several but haven't seen this condition. Good luck.

They look too big to still be in the flask, I agree, I would deflask them.

I'm wondering if the T5 exposure depending on how close not close enough etc. Might have been the cause.... Has this happened before or where your flasks a different type of orchid than this one? Interesting to figure out what would cause that to happen. I agree with the others though try and save them take them out of the flask.

Thanks for the recommendation I have deflasked them, some are small, so they are in compots. Have a couple of big ones, so they are in their own 50mm pots. They are in a foam box with glad wrap over the top. Hopefully they will be ok.

Hi stephen,
I'm going to get some flasks I have reserved soon and some more when they are available or complete later I hear compots and know its like a community planting thing but what one looks like I have no idea or where to get them do you have a pic or anyone reading this thread have a pic or where you by them so I know what I'm looking for and not walking in a store completely lame brained.....
Thanks in advance
Emmaye
Ps stephen I reserved 2 flasks of paphs same parents but reversed each flask. Paph. Venustum var . Album 'Tamar'x 'MHS'. And Paph. Venustum var. Album 'MHS'x'Tamar'. Sort of like yours in appearance with the green veined pouch. I did both because the wait list is sooooo long won't get em until like spring 2011 if I'm lucky. But have 14 other flasks reserved to and those will start being availble over next few months.

Hello Emmaye, to what i understand, compots is short for community pots. Compots is like a pot with a number of flasklings/seedlings planted together. I usually deflask mine straight into its individual pots, but when they are too small, I plant 5-10 babies into a pot, depending size etc.

Here are my (not so clear) photos of the deflasked.

Cheers
Stephen
