when are the seeds ready?

well, i've got this Phal... well... 2 phals... that have had gestating seed pods since like september. they're both still green, so i was wondering when they would be ready. most plants is when they're brown, but this may be a different situation. thanks! =D

Ready for what? For green pod flasking? For conventional flasking? For some other kind of propagation? Have you looked at any books on breeding and propigating phals? They are usually quite thorough in giving average pod maturation times. What books have you been consulting?

I chose to wait till my pod dehisc'd before sending off the seed to the lab at my labs recommendation because the embryo's in my Cattleya's tend to develope last & if I did green pod I'd have a lower count. I waited & had over 90% viability when viewed under a microscope. Phals may be different but I'd wait for it to ready. When it'll be ready? That depends on parentage. Heres some links that may help you.
