Flasking media....

Hi all, I'm new to the forums, and from everything I've read I'm excited to have found a group of people as excited about orchids as I am.

I have a cross that I've been wanting to try, and just a little while ago they were both in flower, so I crossed them. I've never flasked before, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on finding flasking media... I didn't think I would have that much trouble finding some on-line, but there it is. It's a Phal. crossed with a DTPS, if that helps.

I personally don't but I know people here will have some knowledge of this. Hopefully they can answer your question. For the first time maybe it's better for you to send it to a facility where they can do it for you?

Therion, Do you want to do the flasking yourself or do you want to have a professional do it for you?

If you want to do it yourself, there are a couple of threads here on the forum about home flasking.

I'm going to be doing it myself. I've been researching it, and found a source for reliable media... I ordered it and some other supplies. Hopefully it'll work out, but the only way to be sure is to try it. I have to wait until near the end of November (when my capsules will be mature).

Hey Brian, welcome. I'm not experienced, but do know Doodlekitty has been working on this and some other threads. It is way out of my league and seems labor intense. Good luck. And keep us posted.
