The replate media is a similar formulation to the germination media just with added fructose to aid growth and is made less solid so the roots can dig in without too much resistance.

The leaves develop earlier than roots and when replating, the roots haven't started to form yet or are in the very early stages. Hence the upgrade of media. Just sit them on top, and let the roots find their way.

You shouldn't have to do a second replate with the phals - they grow quickly.

Remember, every time the flask is opened, there is more contamination risk. So less is better.
