hybrid name

hi,

some hybrids come with parents name, say a x b, what does it mean? put a's pollen into b? is it the same a x b and b x a?

The pod parent is listed first followed by the pollen parent.

So in a x b, b's pollen is put into a.

What makes it confusing is that a x b and b x a will have the same hybrid name, if registered. For example, Paph philippinense x sanderianum = Paph Michael Koopowitz and Paph sanderianum x philippinense = Paph Michael Koopowitz.

Paph philippinense x sanderianum and Paph sanderianum x philippinense looks same? I Google both, they look similar.
