bloom removal paphs.

when is a good time to remove the spent bloom on my paph spicerianum (still impressed with the extreme long lasting bloom). It lasted from full open second week in November till just a few days ago

That's one of the things I love about Paphs! They last so long! As soon as it starts to look a little shabby, I would cut it back to the foliage. That way the energy in the plant can go to making new growth! Good luck!

Call me lazy but I leave them until they drop off. If you find them unsightly as they're turning brown, you could remove them anytime.

Hi Jimmy.
If the plants are well grown and mature size, I leave my flowers on until they become shabby or worn out looking.
The plant should be able to hold the flower that long.
If its a small plant and first flowering I would take it off after a week so as to get the plant starting to produce more growths. Rather than just supporting the flowers.
I have seen seedling plants flower them self to death!

Cheerio
Ron
