Does anyone have experience in keeping cold climate Masdevallias in a Orchidarium? It seems to me that it should be possible to create a cool microclimate in the tank by using some form of refrigeration, evaporative cooling or water chiller. I'm just curious if anyone has done this and if they have had any success.

There are "cool" orchidariums that you can buy especially for cooler growing plants. I dont' know how they cool but they have some sort of refrigeration unit or something. A member of my former orchid society had one. He kept it a refreshing 69F daytime high and a cool 50F at night. It had lights in it too and a humidifier which he kept at 98% or there abouts.
