Adelaide's Book

I believe that the Forum is able to answer most of the problems that members post. I would like to ask the Forum if it is worth investing in the purchase of 'Orchid Secrets Revealed' which is now offered as an Ebook.

I'm not certain about this particular book as I have never seen it, but having a few books is nice for a number of reasons. It provides a quick resource for sharing with friends different issues involving orchids including, but not limited to, different classifications - what the major types look like, what some of your own plants might be similar to when in bloom, etc. In terms of HOW TO information I think you have the right idea - probably just as good or better to ask people right here on this or other forums who are actually growing them and get the information directly. Once you find a really good resource book with excellent photographs you will find yourself periodically reviewing/refreshing your knowledge, enjoying the beauty and variety within the orchid family just for the wonder of it, and find yourself going to sleep with visions of sugar plums and lady slippers dancing in your head.......:-)

I have a great love of books of all kinds. My standard is that if a book gives me one piece of advice that I wanted it is worth the price.

Now the ones I have that are falling apart from use are a treasure.

I once had a Liberian tell me never to buy a book until I had read it at the library. Then if I liked it I know the cost was a good investment.

When skimming books at a book store if I see one thing I really think was a find I usually buy the book and search for whatever else is in there.

Thanks guys; I have tried to get this book from the library without success, so I cannot make an assesment of the content. I was hoping a member might have read it and could advise me; but I shall probably take the plunge and buy it. Thanks again, Bill
