Can i get some advice before it's too late!

Hi everyone.
Yesterday i checked this oerstedella (oh, by the way, this is just a reference picture, not my actual plant) to see how it was doing and found out that most roots were rotten by overwatering. I inmediatly took action, taking it out of the pot and letting it get dry. Oh, by the way it's a 5" tall plant, not too big.

The question is that at the moment I dont see any healthy roots, but I see that the stem and leaves are still firm and green and i was wondering if this is a sign of hope as to expect new roots that will save my plant or if it's too late. If anyone can help me on what to and how to proceed it'll be much appreciated.

thanks again

manuel

Many people recommend the sphag and bag technique, but I have recently switched over to something I find much more effective. If you can find a hydroponics store where you live, call them and see if they carry a small container, 2 oz, or 4 oz if you have a lot of plants, of Power Clone gel, not the liquid. A couple of drops per day of this at the base of the newest growth will most likely trigger a new growth which should produce new roots soon after starting. Sometimes, if the most recent growth is still immature, it will cause roots to start, but mostly very mature growths will not start new roots. See if you can remove any dry sheathing material over the eyes so the gel, which is very liquid, will contact live tissue.

Many Oerstedellas don't like pots. I have my centradinias in 4" baskets with sphagnum moss. Cynthia
