Could this be a spike

So I was caring for one of my plants today when I noticed this on the flowering stem. Is this a spike? Will it flower or is it a Keiki?

I can't tell, but I can't remember how the one keiki I did have grow looked in the beginning. It was a few years ago. I've got an old green spike that is putting out two new growths that I think will be spikes but they are very green.

looks like a subspike to me too. you probably won't see the blooms until well into January, depending on the temps. but either way, it's still a happy plant to put out a subspike

Yippee! I have one that looks just like this - about .5" on a phal I left the old bloom stem on.

Those look like sub-spikes to me. I would just use the same care for it as the plant has been receiving. As long as the plant is healthy and in the spiking mode, it should continue to feed the sub-spikes.
