Hi everybody. I know that is too difficult for someone to identify an orchid ,without a flower just from some photos. The only thing that I do know, is that is a cold growing miniature orchid that grows up to 6cm tall. If somebody can identify it please let me know. Thanks a lot. |

It's difficult if not impossible to identify an orchid even when it IS in bloom! That one should be a little easier to get the type of orchid, since it's not very common. It's a cute little bugger! I hope someone can hop in today with some help in narrowing it down a little. Good luck! And....

Max tenuifolia gets a LOT bigger than 6 centimeters. Can you contact the seller and send them a picture to help you out? That is, if you know who the seller is or was! |

Question do the pseudobulbs kind of "stack" on top of one another? It looks like Stigmatostalix radicans. LoL, There have been a lot of them posted on here lately and I just seen one at my local Orchid Society meeting.

Jenny -- yes...the orchid gods are speaking to you....time to pick one up. I love mine...you won't regret it. As for the pics above...isn't it also possible that this could be another Sigmatostalix? Maybe not radicans. W/out flowers I believe that all look alike/similar. ?? Correct?

Yes, it could be another species. I immediately thought radicans, b/c I've got one. Most of the sigmatostalix species look "grassy". I guess you'll just have to wait until it blooms to see!! Mine is in bloom now and it's been going strong for a month or so. They're well worth the trouble! Good luck!! |
