Phals schilleriana and philippinensis

I'm wondering how long a phillie or schillie spike would tend to last in bloom, and how long an individual flower would last.

I know it will depend on conditions, but it's reasonable to have an expectation for spike longevity, so what is it for these two beauties?

I don't know cause I don't have either one.

You'd think the blooms would last the normal average that other Phals do- 6-8 weeks, maybe longer depending on care.

from my experience...schilleriana blooms last about 3 to 4 weeks. but their grow area is well exposed to elements..so I don't know if it would last longer if I would bring it inside the house. As for its spike, they tend to branch out so the schilleriana spike can last quite a long time.

I can't say much for philippinensis as I havent bloomed mine. I

Thanks for the replies.

Pitik, I'm glad to hear about your experience with this. I'm glad to hear the branching adds to the longevity. Schillies are so gorgeous, they're beckoning me.

the 115 blooms from my schilly started to wilt on the 3rd week and completely gone on the 4th week. I have 5 new blooms though from the same plant but from its keiki. i wish it could go 8 weeks just like my hybrid phals. i'm still waiting for four more schilly in spike. hopefully buds will appear as our night temp right now is in the 20C to 22C. I have one with 0.5m spike no buds but just keiki on the end.
