i did a search but the engine seems to be down... i ordered an -screws up face and thinks hard- angraecum sesquipedale var. augustifolium -whew- from hoosier; it frankly looks a bit like a vanda. i was going to put it in my east window with the phals/oncs; anyone have any advice on how to care for it? thx in advance.....

Hmm. I bought an Angraecum sesquipedale seedling just 2 months ago. It has since grown a new leaf and has new root growth, so I think my conditions are good. It gets at least 60% shade during the day, if not more. I have it under a shade cloth and among some taller orchids that also shade it. Days are warm, usually nearing 90, with nights around 70. Humidity is also high, around 60%. Oh...I just looked at your location...Maryland. Not to far from me, I bet. Anyhow, it really likes it outside...do you put any of yours outside? It might like it if you can protect it from the sun.

outside there is this squirrel. this squirrel likes to eat things i put out there.... but the only reasonable place to keep plants is the back deck, which will be way too much sun. this plant's starting a new leaf; i'll have to see how fast it goes and maybe it will have to get moved to the kitchen behind the dens and amaryllii....
