I think it's a new growth cause Fred's picture of his spike came in right against the leaf with a sheath attached. Although what do I know? It could be a spike. I hope I'm wrong. Either way it's doing well.

Solay, you apparently know where to look for a Masdevallia spike, 'cause you're right. Masdevallia spikes come from inside the leafy bracts that surround the base of the leaf, not from the base of the plant. Myorchid, you pic looks like growth to me, which is hardly anything to be disappointed with because the more growth the more flower potential.

New growth is good, it means the plant is happy. When the plant is happy, I am happy!

Awesome! Are your temps like outside temps or cool like a/c temps in the house? I can't get my plurothallid to do anything with the warm temps.

I do not have a/c in the house, just lots of open windows and fans. I also have a fan blowing directly on the Masdie's. It makes the leaves move. I water it when it feels dry to the touch.
