Today's find

I found this at Lowe's today. I went plant shopping for something for my mom's birthday...and didn't find anything that I knew she'd like...but then I spotted this. Now, I am not buying her any orchids bc she won't take them home with her. I still have two of hers that I bought her last year, and she is afraid of killing them...so anyway, I left with a present for myself. I couldn't pass this up, the white edges just got to me...

The tag reads: Dtps Taisuco Firebird X Dtps (Brother Love Rosa X New Candy)

It is in a glass container, and is sopping wet. The roots at the bottom and top look green, and are firm...so I'm hoping in the middle of the "pot", the roots will be good too. I'll be repotting shortly.

Wow! That is beautiful what a great find! I have two from Lowes myself. I usually have to look through them and inspect them well to find the good ones!

Hi JoBeth, that is a very pretty flower. I think the white edge sets it off and without it, it might be just pretty. Nice pic. also!

haha, I'll be heading out again shortly to find her something that she will actually keep. She just won't keep orchids...so I'll keep them for her

Nice catch and wiht a name tag to boot! Wooo Hoooo! Us judges refer to that differently-coloured edging as a "picotee" and personally I find a contrasting picotee to be very attractive.

Very nice, the picotee make the blossom different.
