I'm either doing something right or something terribly, terribly wrong

I have a tiny little NoID phal I keep on my desk here (the one in my current avatar with the maneki neko). A little while ago, it grew a new leaf. Cool! I thought. Then it started growing another a week or so ago. Neato! I thought; I' not used to phals growing this fast, especially when it still has a spike in bloom, which it does. I just picked it up to make sure it doesn't want water, and ... WTF??!! That's a new spike coming up.

There is an open window in this room, so it does get a temperature drop of at 20F each day ... but it's still in bloom. Does my plant have a learning disorder? Have I finally figured out phals? (The others are leafing and/or spiking, but appropriately!) Or have I done something terribly, terribly wrong?

Hey! Don't mess with success! That's awesome! BTW- I LOVE the color. I'm a yellow, orange, red orchid lover. ( I love them ALL actually) but I especially love the sun colors in orchids

I'd have to agree w/...you must be doing something really, really right!

I haven't been doing this for years and years or anything but from what I do know...they only put out new leaves AND new spikes when they are lovin' life!

Congrats!!

Thats awesome! Either that orchid is some kind of super-orchid, or you're having really good luck, or youre just taking such good care of him that he can't help but to put on a show for you! LOL!! Keep up the good... no... GREAT work! I wish whatever it is that you're doing "terribly wrong", I would start doing. lol.

Keep us updated on this super-chid!

Cupcake you took my words exactly - Don't move it!!!!

I have had Phals that grew roots, leaves, new spikes and old spikes all at the same time. It's almost weird to see! This type of growth is largely in their genetics, but it will only grow this way if it loves you. Don't change a thing!
