Question abbreviation question

i recently purchased a mini cattleya, it says on the ID...Blc. Jay Ladon x zaruts thae... i am just wondering what do you mean by "Blc.". and aside from the mini catt, i also get an epidendrum. just wanted to ask some tips in taking care of this epidendrum because it is my first time taking care of this kind orchid... thanks a lot co-orchid addicts!!!

I believe it means it it a hybrid cross: Brasso-laelio-cattleya.

Blc. is short for Brassiolaeliacattleya which is an intergeneric hybrid between plants of the following genus: Brassavola, Laelia, and Cattleya.

I'm sorry to say the rest of your tag looks a little messed up, possibly not complete. Also this hybrid may no longer be a Blc. Some orchid species' generic names (their genus) have been changed which with change the names of hybrids made wiht them.

I wasn't completely sure I was on the right track, but thank you for the correction Kevin! You are the one to turn to when it comes to the sometimes difficult language of orchid nomenclature.
