My Neo spike & others! 7/9/08

Here's an up date on my Neo. spike- (pics 1 & 2)

My Bc. Binosa 'Wabash Valley' spike (pic. 3 ) The bud was stuck in the sheath. I had to give it a hand.

My Tolumnia Robsan 'Orchid World' AM/AOS x Rdcdm Rose Ganaucheau 'Hackneau' HCC/AOS spike (pic 4 & 5 )

Patti, they look great. Love the Neo and can't wait for it to open. The Tolumnia is going to be beautiful. I can tell already.
You mean to tell me I have to wait for my tiny spike (if it is a spike) to get that tall on my Tolumnia? Yikes!
The Bc. looks like it's still stuck. LOL!!! Maybe it'll need more help later. Keep us posted. I want to see them open.

I know that the Bc. still looks stuck, but it's not. It's just VERY wrinkled from being stuck. I noticed it the other day. I opened the sheath. It just looks really funny still!

I see orchid flower happiness in someones future! I think I love seeing pics of flower spikes almost as much as the flowers. Spikes are fun, the combination of reward for good growing and the anticipation.

Kevin, I agree! I think about them all day at work. When I come home, I have to see how much they've changed during the day. It's so satisfying!

Your Tolumnia is beautiful. All those buds-- Please post pics when it blooms--if the anticipation doesn't do you in first,LOL.I now have twelve Tolumnia;I've fallen in love with them, too. I just got four more from Jerry yesterday and two of them have new growths, so I will practice my mounting skills with them this weekend. Is yours mounted or in a pot? Do you have more of these babies? Either way, you have some great growth there

How long does it take from Neo bud to bloom? Bet you can't wait for that one either

I noticed the spike starting on June 23rd. It was probably there a little before that. It's just about ready to pop on July 10th, so it sure doesn't take long! (not like Paphs!)

I have 4 Tolumnias.
Tolumnia- noid-red w/magenta & white
Tolumnia- Robsan 'Orchid World' AM/AOS x Tol. Newberry Dancer
Tolumnia- (Passionate Red x Catherine Wilson) x Tol. Popoki 'Mitzi' AM/AOS
Tolumnia Robsan 'Orchid World' AM/AOS x Rdcdm Rose Ganaucheau 'Hackneau' HCC/AOS The last one is the one in spike.
My Tolumnias are in pots. I don't really have any place for mounted orchids in my little house. I have a small mounted Phal, but even that takes up room at my window.
