Close-up of my Neo spike

Here's a close-up. I had time today to mess with my camera a little. It's a little blurry, but the eyes aren't so good!

Nice Patti! What's that I smell? Is it a photo comp entry? Please consider entering it either this month or next. It's pretty cool and would make me look twice if I were judging.

O.K.- What the heck! Kortney, you can definitely see the difference in our buds. Yours shows color, where mine is plain. I can't wait to see the blooms.

Well mine has grow a bit and now it is showing green and pink alternating in the stem of the spike in bands. So it may end up turning all green who knows. I think I will just have to wait until blooms to find out The buds do have some pink and green in them so far but the more it grows the more it turns green.

Well it's just the buds they are teeny tiny the whole spike is maybe an inch or a little larger now. They aren't fully formed yet but I wish they were, lol!

That's a great picture. I can never get a clear close up. I think this one came out really nice so you need to enter it for sure. As for the buds, I can't wait to see it bloom. Good growing!

Thanks for sharing that picture! It gives me something to compare mine with; I have a species and the spike is partially reddish. They're supposed to be white, but there a bit dappled at the moment. Hopefully I can post some pictures later if the site lets me back on.

buttOn, Neo. falcata is a species, but comes in several colors and forms. It will be cool to see what yours turns out to be. It may be white with a blush of pink, or something like that. Where did you get yours from?

Wow Patti! It looks like it shouldn't be to much longer! I agree with arleneg that is a great macro shot! I am jealous of everyones great macro shots with awesome detail so I bought a new camera today. Hopefully I can get a better shot of the blooms on mine. The spurs are bright pink!
