looking for pics of seed pods...

Im looking for pics of seed pods (preferably Cattleya) that are ripe and beginning to show signs of deshisce'ing. Does anyone have some or links to some pics?

I'm hoping for a peek at some photos, also... I'm going away in August for 2 weeks. I hope my pods don't ripen during that time.
I'm 2 months behind you, so I'm hoping I'm safe. I know with African violets, they just start looking a little "different". I know you want to harvest before they split, but not too early, so I can understand why you're a little anxious. (me too)

They say 4-6 months for maturation for Catts and my pod had its 4 month bday five days ago (6/20). I know to look for a split starting where the flower was but I was trying to see if theres any other visual cues prior to it starting to crack open so I dont miss something. Pics to come shortly.

I've read that there's a yellowing in color that starts in the ribbing.

On this page the first picture is of a pod just starting to split. It is not a Cat. I have seen several Cat. pods split first near the center of the pod along the ribs. Usually you will see some yellowing along the ribs a day or two before they visibly split, but not always.

The place that will be flasking for you might be able to give you some advice. I have heard of people placing a mason jar under the pod so the pod is slightly inside of it just in case it happened before they could get to it. Some pods I have seen were brown at the time they opened others not so much I have no idea.
