Lalia Ansceps on a stick

I thought I had posted this this morning but now can't find it. My apologies if you have seen it somewhere else.

The plant I have has a healthy growth on one side that could be mounted as another plant. The question is:1. Should I cut this growth back as far as I can & mount it as a new plant, or 2. Mount it in tandem with the mother plant and when it has attached itself to the new mount cut it off the mother plant.

Thanks
David
