| Check this out! Hi everyone! My Phal. Mini Mark 'Holm' that I recieved from Oak Hill was in bloom when I recieved it with 2 spikes. When the flowers died, I cut one down that yellowed, and the other produced one more flower in April, more than a month since the others fell off. The little cute bloom was damaged about 2 weeks ago (by me), and it dropped. I wasn't sad about it, as I knew the plant needed to have some grow time. When I recieved it, it had been freshly potted so I did not repot, and it was scarred up on the leaves like it had been in a battle (I think from the shipping as they were fresh marks). So the last spike yellowed and I cut it off. This sits on my desk, so I look at it all the time. A couple of days after the spike was cut I noticed the nub, and I took a pick of it a week ago (it is growing fast). It also produced new root growth out of this yucky looking brown root piece that I thought was dead, a new leaf is growing, and yesterday I noticed another nub, probably root, by the bottom leaf. The thing is, I don't know what the big weird nub is. It's folded in half, and looks like it could be a spike or a basal keiki? Thought it would be interesting to document it's progress, and to get some opinions. This little plant is not on steroids, but it thinks it is. The first pic is from 6/4, and the second is from 6/10. Opinions greatly appreciated

| I think the folded over nub is a spike. Keep an eye on it. It might need a little bit of very gentle help to free itself form its tight leaf crotch but not yet.

| I promise I will be gentle. I could not get close enough, and it may be a trick of the eyes, but it looks thin and rolled up like a leaf in the crook of it, so that is why I was thinking basal keiki. There is a ridge that runs down the center of it that I can't get in the pic either. I guess I will take another pic in a week, and we will see what it's doing lol. I don't care either way what it is, I just thought it was pretty neat.

| Well, I guess it wasn't either, it looks like the newest leaf got stuck? Anyway, here it is, I have no idea what to do with it now.

| That's the funniest crinkly leaf, LOL. My Den. Yellow Song just did that to me and couldn't figure it out for the beans of me. Do you think that the humidity was high enough to a point that the leaves stuck to each other? Like wet hair on skin? LOL

| Well, I would have said lack of humidity was the issue, but I have plenty of humidity, so you may be right. The only other thing is that I have it growing under lights, so maybe it grew too fast??? I just pulled it open and looked down into it, and there is another new leaf in the center of that mess also! I wonder if it tried to start 2 leaves at once, and they got stuck? I am kinda upset, this is my favorite phal. If these stall, and stay like this, where is new growth going to come from??

| I don't think it will stay like that.....Maybe a little different...Could outgrow? My Den has a single fold almost like someone was going to take it and make it into a paper doll cutting... I don't know if the creases will come out or not.
