Phal roots rotting!!!

The roots of my Phal had turned yellow. It was left with only one or two green roots.I had taken it out of the sprag and left my Phal to dry.Does it have any chances of survival?Should I put it in a charcol potting mix???If i do that ,how many times must I water it ?

Hi thebest, I'm not too familiar with using charcoal by itself as a medium, usually it is mixed with bark and perlite, or coconut husk chips around here, so I'm not sure how well it retains moisture. I think you can save your plant though, just know that it was probably over watered before, so cut down on the watering to maybe once a week, and see how it goes, good luck.

it is still good. put it into shade area let it recover. I dont use any media when the root

At this point I have 6 of my 7 Phals in semi-hydo and they LOVE it. No more rotted roots. That said I think I would repot this one in a medium bark mix and water sparingly until it has had a chance to recover Keep it out of direct light and fertilize very lightly. Hope this helps. Lashelle

Cut all the dead roots away and as said above pot in a medium bark. The rest is a waiting game but your phal should survive.
