Some new plants arrived! Pics later

My order from Oak Hill arrived today!
I got the Encyclia Green Hornet that I've wanted so badly! It's got 2 bloom stalks starting! Yay!

I got a Rhyncholaelia digbyana that I've been in love with since I saw an awesome one at Tobi"s show in Rochester! (it came in a clay pot that was broken but, the plant is fine. Everything was packed so well! The box must have really taken a punch!)

And last, I didn't even want to mention this one, because I know that I'll hear some "I don't think that will grow where you ares", but I really wanted to try anyway... I'm not expecting great things, but I enjoy a challenge!
And that plant is Polyrrhiza/Polyradicion lindeni-mounted. aka- the Ghost orchid.
Wow... It's sooo tiny!!! I may try it in a partially enclosed glass container. Mainly to keep up the humidity. Oak Hill says warm, humid, and NO fans....We'll see.
I'll post pics. this weekend... I have to go now....

Oak Hill does do a good job with their packing. Congrats on your new chids. Speaking of the ghost orchid..to me even though it is native to So.Fla...it seems so fragile. I hope you get yours going..I think you will.

Thanks, Damien! I couldn't believe the size when I opened it! Wow... I just came back from buying a "house" for it. I'll set it up, then I have to leave again.- This weekend I'll take some photos and post. Maybe by then I'll have my new Masdie from Joe, too!

Oh Patti !!!!!! When you get your Polyrrhiza/Polyradicion lindeni pics up I must see!!! This is one that I want to try as well and I want to see how you're going to do it. Did you get an apothecary jar? I thought about a 2.5 or 5 gallon fish tank. Someone else tried one, but stuck it in their bathroom. I want to say it was Prisana??? (Don't hold me to that though ) Can't wait to see !!!

Sorry Patti, it was late ( I was very sleepy) and I misinterpreted the orchid you mentioned. I own a Rynchovanda not a Ryncholaelia. It seems to like bright light although it seems it can't handle direct sunlight as the Vanda and Ascda do. The full name of the plant is Rynchovanda Colmarie 'Merlot' (it is fragrant). Disregard what I originally type since we have two different plants.

Thanks, Damien! I hope to be able to put my R-d out on the porch once it warms up. Our nights are still doing the 30's- 40's thing... yuk! Right now she'll have to settle for a TIGHT spot in my window! I fell in love with pictures of this plant months ago, but when I saw this gorgeous specimen plant at the Rochester show, I knew I had to have one!

Patti, looks like you've been shopping! Join the club. I had no idea ghost orchids were so hard to grow. I was interested in one too. Good thing I didn't buy one yet. I will wait until I'm a little more successful with the ones I got now. Will be waiting for your post. Love to see pictures!!!

Sandra, You're too funny! My husband said, can't you do that tomorrow? Just relax tonight.(It's been a bad week in many respects) I said no, I have to post photos for the geeks! His reply... as usual! He does it with great humor, but says he's going to get a sore forehead!
I'll post in 2 new threads-
