| It sounds good to me! I'm going away for 2 weeks in August- I have a friend coming over to take care of the chids and the cats. She's really good with plants, but I'm nervous already! Is there someone that could check on them mid-way through? I hope you're going to have a good time. Let us know how you make out!

| It depends on what kinds of orchids you have. What kind are they?

| I am off for 15 days to Alaska. We have a house sitter that will take care of the cats and plants. Right now all the orchids are outside so I will give her instructions on when to water them. Hopefully she will do things right. (Crossing fingers here). ![]() |

I was also at the holiday few weeks ago and my plants were alone for the 10 days. They were in the greenhouse where the temps were very high during the day. All of them survived, they were dehydrated but alive. Few days after watering they all plumped up. So don't worry, I think that everything will be ok. I would just put some moss on the top of the pot of Masd, Milt or paph because they like constant moisture... |

| Sounds like the bathroom is a good place for them. I'm leaving for a week. Some are staying outside but I'm moving them to a shadier place where they will get watered twice with our sprinkling system. Some are coming in and I'm filling the kitchen sink part way and then putting bricks in it and placing a grate over that will keep the orchids I bring inside above the water. I'm hoping they all will be fine. NancyG |
