| Can this baby survived ? My Catt was doing fine before I made a stupid mistake to pull a dried off flower stem. After two flowers died I cut off but left two ugly dried black stem on. I tried to pulled these stems off but left a wound without knowing. I even dusted off cinnamon on areas but one wound rot and die back. I then cut off the leaf http://www.orchidgeeks.com/forum/ima...lies/frown.gif I hope it can make it. |

| Exacto knife's are easier to use than a razor blade. Razor blades are sometimes too long and knick other parts of the plant when trying to remove something. ( I have done this several times:-( )

| removing flower stalk Code: Anyone like to share how to remove finished flower without leaving a ugly black stick behind ? Best way to remove the flower stalk with out cutting into the bulbous part of the orchid is to follow the flower stalk down were it comes out the top of the bulbous part and at the bottom of the leaf stalk. Snip off and no damage to plant. the damaged plant should produce a new growth if all goes well. Cheerio Ron |
