| Hi Sandra. I find some of the Maudiae Paphs will abort the buds if the size of the plant is not very big. Especially in first bloomers. The plant looks health enough to flower well but, guess its size (age) may have caused the problem. Better luck with the second flower spike as the can be very nice flowers Cheerio Ron |

| Sorry about the bud blast Sandra, but as others have stated, could have been from a couple of reasons. Keep with it and I'm sure you will eventually be rewarded. I want to see a picture of that baby when it blooms!!

| Thanks for the tips everyone. When I got this plant, the bud was just beginning and the adjustment to enviornment had no adverse effects to it going on to bloom. It was the second bud that blasted. Here's what the first flower looked like. ![]() The chewed up, ugly leaves prevent me from enjoying this new bud growing. The plant is so ugly now. I am just going to have to buy a new Paph. to get my mind off of this ugly duckling. P.S. Patticake, have a look in the Aspasia thread. I posted new pics yesterday. 3 buds (I think that's what they are) are growing on mine! |
