Question Is this normal for Phalaenopsis?

Is it normal for Phalaenopsis flowers to start wilting this time of year? As far as I can tell I keep the plant watered correctly. I water it and let it be until it's dry and then leave it dry for a bit before watering it again. It seems like only two of the flowers are starting to show signs of wilting. I just want to make sure this is normal, and if not, figure out what I can do about it. Thanks

they all die eventually; some flowers last months, some only weeks. i wouldn't worry about it if the rest of the plant seems fat and happy.

They usually die from the bottom of the spike upwards. If the flowers at the top of the spike are dying first, you have a problem.

Justin, did I respond to you on another forum, or did my post die? Phals should not get completely dry. Your technique would be great for Cattleyas and Dendrobiums, but phals not to be watered sooner. Let's just say they need to get very near to dry, but not completely. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
