Kieki has Kieki?

This very tiny kieki is growing a kieki. I'm stumped, didn't think this was likely and wondering what it means, health-wise or anything?

don't worry about it. some plants just throw keikis all over the place.

Actually Sandra, I think you'll find it is a root from the keiki itself, that's what it looks like to me.

Nope, it's clearly a teeny little kieki with its own root growing and growing on the mother kieki.

I didn't realise the large one was a keiki.

I have a keiki from last year off of my green hard cane den and that has a new growth which I originally thought was a keiki on a keiki too, but it is not.

It is JUST a new growth on the keiki which is now really a mother plant.

Interesting things orchids throw up at us.

The mother kieki is in a 2" pot if that helps to show how tiny it is, thinner than a pencil and about 2" high.
