| Mind if I brag? For those of you who know the struggles I've had with my Cattleyas, well....a picture's worth a thousand words.  There are 2 more buds about to open also. | Sandra- It's gorgeous! I love it. It's a lot like the one in my avatar. Going out in the pouring rain to take it! The rain adds sparkle to the bloom. Nice....

| Sandra, What a wonderful job and such a gorgeous bloom  The best thing is that you get to grow outside! How lucky you are--somewhere, I read that you weren't supposed to put water on the flowers, but, hey, who argues with Mother Nature Congrats on a job well done!!

| Congrats on the bloom Sandra. Doesn't it seem that these rains have really fed these orchids of ours. My root growth on my Vandas seem to have increased with just these 2 days of rain. |

| Tobi, you've got to know that I was thinking of you when I was posting this. made4engineering, it's a 'something' alright but I haven't a clue, what! No tags. This was my first Cattleya I bought myself for my birthday, last year. FlaCo, I know! This weather has been great for them. I'd love to have a Vanda but as I learned the hard way with all my Catts., I wouldn't be able to provide the light intensity in my current arrangement but, someday I'll have Vandas up the ka-zoo! I have a fairly new reed stemmed Epidendrum and just in the last week, the roots seem to have grown another foot out of the pot and I think it's because of this crazy weather. Thanks everyone for your cheers! |
