CRorchids is on a distinguished road
Orchid Media

Last year I used spaghnum moss on all my orchids but the rainy season in Costa Rica is to humid and most of my orchid's roots rotted. Now I am changing to coconut 1/3 chuncks 1/3 small charcole and 1/3 perlite and it is working better, most of my plants have nice roots by now.
What do you think of the media? Any recomendations would be welcome.
I grow mostly Costa Rican species (epidendrums, maxilarias, stanhopeas, brassias, oncidiums, guarinthes, lacaenas and some other species) and some Cattleya hydrids. I have three greenhouses so I can use diferent media and diferent climate in each.
Thank you

sphag would be too wet for most of those orchids even here in florida.

The coconut husk holds more water than bark and should be watched. It is common in Hawaii so will work well if you monitor for too much water. I would change coconut more often than bark beacause it deteriorates faster.
