| Clear plastic pots I have all my Phals in clear pots because the roots photosynthesize and I can see when they get dry(also they all came in clear pots) but I was wondering about other orchid varieties such as dendrobiums, oncidiums, paphs, phrags, cats, etc. I've branched out and acquired a few dendrobiums and oncidiums recently and they need repotting and wondered if they can be repotted in clear pots. They are currently in either dark plastic pots or clay pots in which they came. Thanks, Eric. |

| Nevermind, I found my own answer. "Phalaenopsis orchids and others which normally grow on things rather than in the ground are used to having their roots exposed to light, indeed they seem to enjoy it. Terrestrial orchids can be planted into a clear pot which in turn sits inside a standard coloured pot, you then can see at a glance what attention the roots may need." |
