More flowers?

Hi all!
I have a phalaenopsis (NOID) that is still in spike, but had finished opening all of its buds. Now it looks like the end of the spike has turned purple (not green like the other ones), and is growing two new buds??!! Does this usually happen? Or are they not buds at all and something else? I'm sorry I don't have a picture yet, I'll work on one. The phal gets about 3 hours of diffused south exposure, and is watered only when the sphag dries out. I mist under the leaves every morning. Thanks in advance for the heads-up!

My one yellow Phal NOID did bloom at first with three flowers. It started blooming Dec 1st, and then in January it dropped the middle bloom, and then grew 4 more buds. Those are now finally starting to open, right after the last two from the first buds faded. Also, my Brother Sara Gold just keeps making new buds at the end of each branch on the main inflorescence. It has 3 branches, and each one keeps making 1 or 2 more buds, after all buds are open.

It's not unusual for buds to continue to form after a brief rest. Sometimes it takes weeks for them to start to regrow. Enjoy the future show.

That's neat! I thought once the flowers had opened, that was it until it finished blooming. How exciting! Thanks psyc1210 and Brooke!
