Just to bring you up to date, my 2 phal's are doing good, the second one still has all the flowers on the second spike, the first spike that lost its flowers almost immediately, is now shooting just below where I cut it. My first phal that lost all the flowers and buds within days has also started to shoot, hopefully with another spike just below where I cut it down. This plant also has also grown a new leaf. The water trays and higher humidity certainly seem to have improved their 'health'. I am really thrilled. After the initial disappointments, my phals seem to be happy and obviously like their new English home! Thanks again for your advice. Sandra.

Sounds like you are well on your way to being a "professional" phal grower! Good job. When your new subspikes are all in bloom post a pic of the flowers so that we can all enjoy them too!

There is something very beautiful about a healthy, growing plant, one with bright shiny green leaves and loads of green tipped roots. Focus on total health of the plant, and send us pictures of all your breathtaking blooms!
