Momet moisture meter

Has anyone used this moisture meter? Any comments about it ?

Hi and welcome I don't use a meter, so I'm afraid that I'm not much help there. I use my fingers mostly, or a wooden skewer or pencil. Whatever fits the particular pot that I'm investigating! Hopefully someone else will jump in with better info. Good luck!

In general i think that moisture meters are used for normal potting soil. I don't know if it would work on things like orchid bark although it probably would work on sphagnum moss. I think its preferable to use the skewer method or feel the weight of the pot(heavy=moist, light=dry. It takes some time to master)

re: Moisture Meter

I have a meter (no brand visible) that I use in the garden. It depends on good contact with the soil surrounding the probe area. If you are using bark or a chunky mix of any sort, it will not give an accurate reading.
