Friend of mine only has a couple that she imported, I recieved one
V. Denisoniana. Flowers have only been open about two days, first open a lime greenish yellow, then mature to the most intense waxy orange, and the smell at night is AMAZING. Color in photo is not really true, more intense deeper orange in person. A specimen this color is said to be very rare

Vanda denisoniana (notice the lower case "D", species names are not capitaliszed) is a great species. I had one in my American collection. The change in colour form green to yellow/orange is actually fairly common with this species with the flowers getting darker and darker as they age. Mine did that as well. The fragrance is stunning, intoxicating and it comes through in denisoniana hybrids.

I currently have an Ascocenda Gail Noyes (Ascda. Fuchs Harvest Moon x V. denisoniana) currently in spike. It's blooms also smell like denisoniana.

They're smallish plants too. Great choice if space is a concern. I grew the denisoniana na dam growing the Ascocenda in pots with good success too.

I'm a little scared to try such an exotic looking orchid as a Vanda at my level of experience just yet, I'm happy that my Phals are blooming, lol!

A vanda wouldn't be that hard. All you have to do is follow the culture requirements. Janice in Illinois has an Ascnda Soo Fun Beauty (I sooo want one by the way) growing in her house and it's gorgeous. All you have to do is maintain the root system with moisture by misting and watering. This will provide the necessary humidity levels.
