I missed the blooms so much, I bought 3 more!

Hi, everyone. It's been quite a while since I've shared here. My old store closed November 9th and the next day we opened a new store that is twice the size of the old one. Publix is a very popular grocery store chain in the SE. Our old store was the biggest volume in the area, NOW, holy cow..... needless to say, I have been snowed under. I recently sprained my back at work, so now I have a little more time on my hands.

Unfortunately, my orchids have suffered some from my neglect. Once, however, I figured out they were much happier outside, things changed. I would be surprised if any of my phals bloom this year, they took the hardest lack of humidity hit. There are a couple that have a good chance. I bought 6 dends and have completely enjoyed the late winter bloom. Just the other day I started reading here again and found out I could leave my dends out in the cool nights we have had. I would love to see a late summer bloom.

I had to have some beautiful blooms again so I have recently bought a noid dend, noid phal and a paph Hsinying Redcrane '307' x paph HsinyingSceptre 'C.H.#2'. Thank heavens for the blooms. They are making me feel so much better.

Ellen, we're twins! I recently bought 2 very similar to your pics 1 and 3. My Dend is blooming as we speak....just started opening yesterday. I think the name is Dendrobium Burana Green Star. (I'll take pics when it's bloomed.) The Phal is a noid. I've got the pic somewhere...hold on, Ill find it.

Here it is...

You picked beauties Ellen. I know the feeling so well of wanting to be surrounded by some pretty blooms.

It must be in the air, kevin! Ha ha The weather here is very spring like. I love it.

Sandra, I can't believe we have gotten the same ones. My dend is in full bloom. I hope they hold. Home Depot had it packed with sphag. I removed a lot of it. I am keeping an eye on it.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm feeling better already.

chefatplay: That is a good enough reason as any to buy more orchids.!!

Nice flowers. It is so hard to pass these orchids when they are on display.

I bought two more Phals. and a 'post-bloom' Cattleya yesterday when I was hunting for something to grow my Dracula in

The word 'sale' should be banned

Enjoy.

Pikevi, you are so right LOL! BAN the word! A Dracula, hmmm,,, have you posted a picture of that one yet?

Thank you so much, Janice and Tobi. These gorgeous flowers make everybody feel better. I hope I'm lucky enough to show some flowers from my old orchids this year. Just the fact that they have survived makes me happy.

Oh no. The word 'SALE' should never be banned! How could we get the good orchids if there was never a "sale". Besides, a few here, a dozen there never hurt anyone....

Jenny, you're funny! My store has phals all over the place for sale right now. It is so hard not to pick one out everyday! They are $15.99 and beautiful. I have even gotten my daughter to buy one.

Gosh I wish I could buy any chids for the price you pay on the other side of the pond! No wonder we're called rip-off Britain!
