Oh yeah, I'd recommend both "Orchids for Dummies", and also Ortho's "All About Orchids". Two books with all the basic information in them for a starter in the hobby (As I am). I am also toying with the idea of miniature orchids after reading the book "Miniature Orchids" by the same author as "Dummies", Steven A. Frowine. I've also derived a LOT of info from this very site!

Rocinante, Congratulations - that's a beautiful phal.

I also have the book, bought as a gift Christmas 2006. I find it useful, but all the culture conditions are based on the American climate. Still very useful though.

Really great growing Rocinante! Beautiful leaves as well as flowers.

I really like the 'Orchids for Dummies' book. It has chapters with top ten lists of what we can do wrong, like 'If your orchid doesn't bloom,' 'Top ten mistakes,' very useful and practical information.
