Question Stunting Growth?

I just got a new phall and it is growing a flower spike but it keeps going through periods of no growth when it is really cold and grows really fast when it is a little warmer is this bad for it?

It's normal for things to go slow when it is cool and faster when it is warm. So nothing to worry there, but how cool is cool and how warm is warm?

I've given this information several times before - but here goes again. This is the effect of temperature alone on the development of a phal spike done by a major university.
Temp in F (C) - number of days
57 (14) - 266 days
63 (17) - 133 days
68 (20) - 87 days
73 (23) - 68 days
76 (26) - 52 days

Thanks for the info,Mike--I guess I hadn't discovered this site when you gave it before, but I have now put it in my little black notebook of fun facts from the forum. Now the only trick is to get my DH to raise the thermostat

It really depends from conditions. Some of my phals's spikes grow like crazy and some are very slow...
