Is this phal name correct?

In another thread I referenced buying a phal a couple of weeks ago. Has beautiful red and white blooms. The plastic identifier thingy stuck in the pot identifies it as Phal. Beautiful Red x Self. I've had no luck searching it. Is this correct? It seems incomplete. Or is this one of those "there's no way to know" deals? TIA.

I checked the RHS database and didn't come up with any match to Beautful Red. I guess it's not a registered plant as yet. The reference to x Self would indicate that the plant had been crossed with itself.

Oh Kevin - did that make sense???

Vivienne, thanks so much. What is an RHS database? God, sometimes I feel so inadequate.

Took me a while too. Kevin (kmarch) got me hooked with it. It is an excellent source to find registered plant names or parentage of plants. VERY COOL! It's my first stop whenever I get a new plant.

Most likely the name "Beautiful Red" is just someone's subjective generic name - could just as easily been called "Fabulous Red" or "Best Ever Red" or "You Are Not Going to Believe How Wonderful This is Red"

Yep, looks like one of those "ain't happenin" things. Thanks for the effort, though. I'm a little more informed (RHS).
