Problem with new Phal

I recently bought two Phals from Chesterfields. They looked amazing when I received them in the mail, but the smallest has developed a small hole in one of the leaves and has a tissue thin dry membrane over it. I suppose it's the "skin" of the leaf. It's in a south window, so could it be sun damage? I don't have a camera, as yet, so I won't be able to post a picture, but if it gets worse I'll steal one from my son!

The Phals are:

Kaleidoscope
Penang Girl

Its hard tell what it is without a picture. I had the samething on a Paph I got online. I took a toothpick and made the hole bigger till i got to clean tissue then I put cinnamon in the hole. It healed fine and never spred or came back

I've taken it out of the pot and noticed it had some root rot and another large leaf that is soft and wrinkled. With a sterile pair of scizzors, I trimmed the bad roots and am now soaking it in a worm tea solution. When I re-pot I will pot it in a phal mix instead of Spagh. Do I need to re-pot the other one? It is in spike right now.

If it's in moss only like the other one, I would. Like I said before I was glad that I checked the roots on my Phal cause they were starting to go bad.

Repotted the Kaleidoscope, too. It had some bad roots but the moss wasn't packed as tight as the Penang Girl. This is my first real challenge, so wish me luck! Thats $40+ that I don't need to waste.

Definitely let the vendor know what's going on with the root condition on both plants. Also I forgot to mention. The Penang Girl is a little bigger than a seedling but smaller than an adult Phal. (Year or less to bloom) It probably got a sunburn! (ouch) These take a little less sunlight than what adult Phals would.
