Nice additions, Janice! They're beautifull. I'm a sucker for catts especially. I love the color of your slc. Good luck with them.

Janice it looks like you rode off like a bandit with those beauties! I have to agree with everyone else too cause I like the Glad Lip as well, but I love the color of the Colm. I heard they are a bit more tricky, but I don't have any, and surely someone here will tell you about them here soon.

I see that you restrained yourself at the show. Orchidaholics can't help themselves and the best support you'll get from this forum is, "Go get some more!" Love the Glad Lip - it's gorgeous.

Gee, you folks should be so glad you live near places that even HAVE shows. A show here is H/D plant department with a couple dozen Phals. Good thing I like Phals!!! Al |

I went back and bought 4 more today.....but they were small!!! These orchids are NOTHING compared to ones I have seen in central Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it is such a CHALLENGE.

Having said that I would not at all put Odontocidium Wildcat (the name Colmanara is no longer used for Wildcat) in the "tougher to care for" category. In my opinion it is very easy to provide for, grow and bloom. Many here on the forum will agree. Odontocidiums do well under general Oncidium culture. Go to the American Orchid Society and download a culture sheet for Oncidiums. Give it a read and if you have any questions let us know. There are lots of folks here who grow these and they will be able help. Happy Growing!

Janice, your selection is really spectacular. I'm in agreement with everyone here...that Glad Lip is a beauty. I think it's impossible to go to a show and come home empty handed, it's almost sinful. And now that the day is almost over, I wonder if you went back and just L Last edited by sandra; 02-09-2008 at 08:43 PM. |

They all look great. I have one Dtps. which looks similar to the third one (Dtps. Sun Tye Diamond ). The white border looks great. Nice addition.

Nice additions, Janice! ![]() Like Kevin (kmarch) said, grow Odontocidium under basic Ondicium culture. I have an Oncidioda (Oncidium x Cochlioda) which I have in fine coconut/perlite mix and grow under lights in a cool to warm orchid room. It bloomed for me twice last year. The rest of my oncidium types (Miltonias, Comparettias, Tolumnias, etc.) are grown near an east, south, and west windows (depends on leaf type). I water the potting medium when is slightly dry or dry (again, depends on type). Ugh! I'd like to add hints and tips, but have to go. If anyone don't cover it when I return, I'll add another post.
