| They typical cycle of this orchid is that it grows (water and fertilize heavily), it blooms (less water), and it goes dormant (looses leaves and flowers - no water). The general approach is that once the new growth has matured, water and fertilizer would be gradually decreased until all the leaves and flowers are gone. Then after the no-water dormant period, when new roots and shoots appear, light watering begins and is gradually increased until it is once again beign heavily watered. These are really fun orchids to grow but it does take discipline to not water them.
