| Pseudobulbs This is my first winter with other species than phals. Now I have reduced my watering as usual, but the psedos on my Burraghearea,Beallara, and oncidium look abit wrinkled. Is this par for the course? I find it confusing that you can get this from over AND underwatering. I don't want to kill them! Thanks |

| Oncidiums are thirsty boogers. I treat them the same as usual year round, and mist. Keep good air circulation on them to prevent root damage. This is the key.

| Thin-leaved ones need to be watered more frequently than those with thick leaves. Some species need a more drier non-growing period, but for the most, I would continue watering as usual when almost dry. You want to keep the pseudobulbs as plump as possible. I would guess you're underwatering. |

| I would not say you are wrong cuplake you just did not know I light mist all year round |

| What about one in a Vanda basket, bare rooted Tobi? I have one oncidium that doesn't want to bloom. I've had it in sphag, in bark, back in sphag...nadda. A nursery nearby had theirs in baskets so I thought, why not? Should I be misting it daily? The nursery told me they just let the morning dew and natural rainfall take care of them. I can't give them that so, what to do? ![]() |

| If the nursery is letting nature (ie, dew/condensation and rain) take the course of care for the plant then you need to mimic that kind of culture or get it to acclimate to your enviroment. I would mist early in the mornings to give it that closeness to dew.

| I agree you want to be able to mimic the culture they need, but if it is not exposed to an AM dew or natural rainfall, then you would need to mist (maybe not everyday at this time when the temps are cooler) occassionaly. Dens can take a drier period between waterings. |
