???

Well, here are the pictures I have of my orchids, although NONE of them are in bloom. In fact, my Sharry Baby got knocked over a few days ago, and I noticed that most of the root system looked dead, so I wrapped some damp sphagnum moss around the bottom to try and encourage some new growth. I have a couple of plants that are set up like that. Here's the link to the pictures, which also shows the light that the plants are getting on my South-facing balcony. Any suggestions as far as location or potting mediums would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Jmurphy your pics didn't come up, can you try again? Most of your plants should do well in a bark mix. Especially being in Florida. As for the Sharry Baby, did it have root rot, or was it just dry looking? Oncidiums are thirsty drinkers, but air circulation is a big factor. Try posting your pics again.

Sorry, I thought I'd added the link. I've edited the post so that the link is on there now. The Sharry Baby's roots looked liked they'd dried up and died, but there were some *tiny* root nubs near the base. I'm just not sure what to do with it. I can try to get a picture of the roots without the moss around them.

Agree with Articuno75. Oncidium really need good air circulation to grow well.

Yeah, your Sharry Baby is dehydrated. It shows the tale tale sign with the accordian effect on the leaves. What you can do is take a mix of bark, charcoal, and chopped spagh (a little more spagh) and use that as medium. This will help with water retention. Since you live in the south probably a clay pot. Keep air circulation well on it. This will help. The crinkle on the leaves won't go away, but it will keep new wrinkles from forming. As for the jewel orchids, I don't have any and can't help you there. Hopefully someone with that expertise will give you some help. The Dens look good and in the mix that they are in should do fine. I see that you are using the skewer method. Keep checking the moisture levels. You're doing great. I do suggest to open the plastic bags a wee bit more so that you don't end up with some nasty mildew in your plants. Again, air circulation is a key factor for healty roots.
