| Gastrochilus sororius Hello everybody! Today, I bought a Gastrochilus sororius. With spikes, which will flower in about 7 days My question is: How big do they really grow? A colleague told me, its leaves become 4 inch long. Is he right? Or is it a small plant? greets Sebastian |

| Has there been a name change? I have a Sedirea japonica, but some places sell it as Gastrochilus japonica. Sedirea used to be a two species genus, but I think it may have been conbined with others. They look like similiar plants. |

| Gastros and Sedirea dont' look anything alike to my eye, but then again I'm not a taxonomist specializing in these species so..... But, Sedirea is currently the recognized genus for 2 species: japonica, and subparishii.

| Its alright. Whats happened is there is Sedirea japonica and Gastrochilus japonicus, and some sites are misspelling them so they have the wrong species name. Last edited by tom499; 02-02-2008 at 06:59 AM. |
