Hmmm...I didn't recognize the name"Santosii" so I started doing some looking and found a problem.

In your post you capitalized the second name "Santosii" which suggests it is a hybrid. Problem is that only a few old hybrids had Latinized names. Modern hybrids do not have latinized names. So i checked and found that there is no Dendrobium hybrid registered with the name "Santosii."

Originally I had thought you made a capitalization error and that you had a species, but I did not recognize the name "santosii" as one of the antelope species. I double checked and sure enough there is no Dendrobium species described with the name "santosii."

So we've got a problem. There's no Dendrobium by that name.

Did you buy it in bloom? Can you post a pic fo the flowers? It looks like we're starting form scratch wiht this plants ID and culture.

Dendrobium santosii

Kmarch,
I am good friends with two reputable growers here in Florida and at one of their greenhouses this plant's flower caught my eye. It is the most unique green with a light purple lip antelope type den-amazing flower that looks alive lol. I have a picture on my phone of the flower but cannot get it onto my computer. One was in flower but was not for sale as my friend told me it is Dendrobium Santosii, she had about 4 more and all were labeled with this name...the one pictured is one that she was generous enough to give me

I'm sure your friends are good people, but something's messed up with the name on the tag. There's no plant named Den Santosii or Den santosii. I wonder if it should be Den Samurai? Den Samurai is a famous antelope cross (I believe between Den stratiotes and Den antenatum). Or, maybe it could be Den stratiotes. Hmmm.... Den stratiotes is a big plant though.
