Thanks, but I'd rather wait until it's a bloom that I brought about. I bought this in bloom, and it doesn't seem quite fair. Thanks for the compliment!

I'm new to orchids too! I bought this in bloom- We'll see how I do at getting it to re-bloom! I've just been reading books and this forum. This time of year isn't a growing time for these plants up where I am.( NY state.) This came from Florida, so I have to help it adjust to culture shock! Good luck!

I'm not a big fan of Paphs, but for me, this one is alright! I like the creamy white and green combination. Kinda like key lime pie instead of Raisin Pie (does that sound good to anybody?). :P

Beautifully photographed.

As long as you own it and photograph it, that makes it eligible for the comp.

Patticake,
Beautiful flower, I too love the Maudiae-type hybrids.

Is that a second bud right behind your flower? I had something like this happen to me earlier this year, but it did not develop like yours. I would like to hear if yours opens and develops.

Do you have any photos from another angle?

Jay

Oh Patticake, what a lovely PHOTO... and just a couple of weeks ago you were fussing about not being able to get your pix up here. And now they are lovely! Congrats to you!

patticake!

Much rejoicing and cheering from the paph nut! I too like Maudiae's and rarely see a green/white that doesn't have some nice qualities.

If you let it grow on and clump, after a couple of years when you have multiple growths you'll end up with multiple flowers!

Cheers!

Thanks, kmarsh! I'll let it get full! Jay- Yes, it's another bud in back. I'll post photos again when my son comes back! I have the photos in my camera of different angles. As I've stated on other posts, I can grow plants, take photos, but getting them ON the computer is another story! (especially with my computer!)

Thanks Fred! I'm glad that I'm not the only one with a #$^?% computer!
My son is a programmer. When he comes over, he has a blast! He'll sit here and laugh! Then says, "your computer doesn't like me, I make it do things that it doesn't like". It's a used computer, that was given to us. My husband and I just got married, moved, etc.- Down the road we'll get a computer that's "normal"!

Well congratulations on the wonderful changes occuring in your life. Your paph is beautiful. There is something very grand about Maudiae hybrids. What medium is your plant growing in?

Thanks Nancy! It's in the medium that it was shipped in- Mostly sphag with a little bark thrown in. Styrofoam peanuts in the bottom. (It's in a clear pot)
I've put the pot and all inside a ceramic w/cutouts pot for stability. I am waiting to repot it untill it's done blooming. I figure there's enough shock to the poor thing to end up here in the north country from sunny Florida! Do you have suggestions on what I should pot it in? I've read that it needs more moisture than catts, but, I've read different advice on what it should be potted in- don't know which one to listen to.
